Reflection/ realization c;

i think that after trying to do the comic strip with flip book i realized that its not easy at all doing the comic. I think that after realizing all of this, i have come to my conclusion that i shall do a video using "go animate" . I realized while watching Angie Gallegos video that it is way more interstresting to use a video. When she showed me her video i was actually having fun watching the video even though it was about the design cycle. I was actually learning.  and  i think that if i had fun watching the video then i assume that 6th graders would have way more fun seeing the video.

Ideas for Project

Idea number 1 - I will show the character stuggling with a problem

Idea number 2- I will show a hero helping a kid by showing him/her the design cycle.

Idea number 3- i will have the hero save the day by showing the design cycle.

Design Specifications

DESIGN SPECIFICATION

 Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it. I am going to make a cartoon/comic strip using the design cycle. I'm going to make it because I want to compare to websites to see witch would be better to teacg a 6th grader the design cycle. I am making it for a 6th grader.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment? the requirements for this project are for it to be very easy or simple enough for a 6th grader could understand  yet your work should be as hard as a 9th graders.
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment? the limitations for this project are that they have to be all done by a certain date. Another limitation would be that we wont actually have full contact with them when they're doing it .
13. How will you "test" your project?
i will test my cousin Robert who doesn't know any thing about the design cycle. i will then question him on what he has learned from what he saw in the comic. this will be funn because he likes comics.
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it. for my project i will make a comic strip so that will teach in a very simple way to a 6th grader what the design cycle is.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?  the requirements for this project are that it must be at least 2 minutes in length .
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment? some limitations for this project are that we all must be turned in by a certain period of time.
13. How will you "test" your project?  i will make a survey/test for  the 6th graders asking them questions and what they didn't understand and what they wish i would have done better about it.
DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS

  • it must be simple
  • it must be at least 5 pages long
  • it must be made with flipbook
  • it will be about the design cycle
  • it will be at least 2 minutes long
  • students will be able to understand the design cycle after seeing the comic.
Test
in order for me to know if the students fully understand what they saw in the comic about the design cycle then i will have to do a test. they will have to get a 7 out o f10.

Investigation Summation

I would rate myself a 2 because i don't fully understand the topic yet. I did understand the work we were doing because I had help from Angie. I  wouldn't rate myself higher because I'm slowly getting the concept of it , but I'm still a bit confused. I understand when you explain it . I still have to finish my  review over the websites for comics but i'm slowly getting there little by little :)

comic master vs. flipbook

COMICMASTER

i gave it  4 because the fonts are really good  and the they are so fun to use when doing a comic strip. doing a comic strip can be organized when using the design cycle . the fonts here make it interesting for the reader . they vary from fancy writing to it looking as if you wrote it with pencil. I thin that the font isn't that important but when it comes to comic strips it makes it fun. It makes them way boring when people use the new times roman is legible but it does get boring at times . when using comic strip you can put the comic master program you can add speech bubbles and add cool fonts. if you use something boring like the usual  then it will not interest and will be hard to read for the 6th grader. using different fonts even changing the font size it will look better.

in simplicity comic master earned itself a 4 out of five. the creating of a comic here is super easy. it has buttons that make it simply easy. the comic master has a main menu  that explains everything in simple steps. once you finish with one thing you can go on to the next one by simply clicking on the next button . its as simple as that.

the music on the comic master earned it's self a 3 out of five. the reason i gave it a 3 out of 5 is because i didn't like the type of music . i just felt like it was old and that there wasn't to much variety. Yet, i still think that the music in a comic strip like this is very  cool and intertaining . i think that if i show it to a 6th grader then  they will be very entertained and will defenetly enjoy listening to it . but in my opinion i didnt think it had good songs.

The characters earned them selfs  a total of 5 out of 5 .  i really liked the characters on this comic strip . they were really fun to work with and very creaitve and fun . when doing a comic strip the most important thing to use is the characters oviously and i think that comicstrip really showed us how fun it can be to work with them. when using the comic master program to make comic, you can move around the comic from side to side and from slide to slide. and when you don't wan't it or simply want another one you can do it very easily.
